For my second project of the semester, I decided to develop a project around the psychology behind cults and how they are still relevant to society with my friend, Kahley. For this project we took in a lot of information from researching cults and the mentality behind those who join cults. The thinking skill for this project was perspective, which means how you see something. We weaved perspective into this project in many different ways, mainly through the execution of each product we made. We chose this topic because we wanted to understand the psychology and structure of cults, as well as learn more about the cultism of our current society.
English
For the English portion of my second project, Kahley and I decided to write poems from the perspective of someone who is coming into a new environment. We wrote one of these poems from a positive perspective and the other from a negative perspective about this situation. The purpose of these opposing perspectives is to show how perspectives on the same situation can vary. Before writing our poems we offered surveys to the students of Apollo to address their feelings on Apollo. We also studied and reviewed other poems that revolve around the theme of perspective.

Art
For the art portion of my project we painted a god-like figure that was meant to represent Jesus. We chose to draw this figure to represent him and show perspective because religion can be seen as “cult like” and the followers of this cult have a different view on their group than outsiders would. Those who believe in a god hold that identity to a supreme power and worship them, much like those in a cult will devote themselves to their leader. The figure is split in half to represent how the fascism of this society is slowly overtaking us. The drips represent an individual social media, which is the cult of our time.
History
For the history aspect of our project we focused on how the president has ultimate influence over us as we are stuck in a cult like democracy and society. Using perspective from previous and current candidates we made our own candidate for the 202 election that we believe would best suit the needs of out country. We spent a lot of time researching those running for 2020 and their intentions. Following this, we created a timeline of this candidate's life from the day he was born till the day he has to resign out of his eight terms of presidency.
